The pleasure of exercise and sports

Exercising means different activities and different levels of intensity. It is for everyone; the young and the elderly.

Even the simplest sport activity can be enjoyable as long as we turn it into a “flow” experience that attracts our interest, has goals, immediate results, attracts our attention, and our abilities are proportional to its difficulties.

Any activity is worthwhile for the enjoyment it offers and not for other purposes, such as health, fitness, and fashion.

The pleasure of food and taste

By nature we are attracted to tasty foods and drinks. However we cannot enjoy all due to a variety of reasons. Some are costly, affordable by few. Other, are harmful to health. To some we are getting addicted and become dependent on them. On the other hand we often have to follow a certain diet out of necessity or for health reasons.

Whatever the reason may be we should always introduce tasty recipes in our diet which are befitting our health and financial conditions. We should take control over our diet by withstanding the pressures from within as well as without.

The sensual pleasure

Sexuality is certainly the most enjoyable experience, after water and food. Like any pleasure, too much sex is harmful to our health.

There are ways to transform sexuality into a permanent enjoyable experience. We can for example give it variety, interest and a challenge. But sexuality really grows if it takes on a psychological dimension through romance, the sharing of emotions and promises.

A new dimension of sexuality is revealed when along with the physical pleasure and romance, there is also an interest between the sexual partners for the success of their personal goals.

However, in order to remain fresh it needs to be updated and reinforced with joint activities, such as traveling, reading, art, sports.

The pleasure of shelter

Having a shelter is a natural and necessary pleasure. We cannot live without it. However in the Epicurean mode of life fulfilling this instinctive desire is not enough to living happily. We should look for the type of shelter we like and enjoy living in. Choosing a house disregarding our feelings will eventually cause distress.

Based on our feelings, which house will we choose? Reason should evaluate the alternative options. It should predominantly take into account our real needs and our finances. We should no spend all our savings and disposable income on purchasing and repaying the mortgage of the house of our dreams. It is wise to leave adequate balances to satisfy other essential needs.
